The English player Trent Alexander-Arnold has reached an agreement with Real Madrid to join the team during the upcoming summer transfer window. According to "The Athletic" website, the deal is in its final stages. The player will sign a 6-year contract with Real Madrid starting from July 2025, with the signing expected in the coming weeks. Alexander-Arnold, the right-back for Liverpool, announced his departure from the team at the end of the current season upon the expiration of his contract. Liverpool rejected offers from Madrid in January and December, opting to pursue winning the Premier League and Champions League titles to secure a higher transfer fee. Real Madrid is reportedly willing to pay £500,000 to Liverpool to acquire Alexander-Arnold during the Club World Cup starting on June 14, necessitating negotiations with Liverpool to secure the player's services during the tournament. The English club is seeking a higher fee than what Real Madrid has offered. Alexander-Arnold has won 9 titles with Liverpool, including the 2019 Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup, as well as the 2019-2020 Premier League, EFL Cup twice, FA Cup, and Community Shield in 2022, and finally the 2024-2025 Premier League. Alexander-Arnold will follow the path of players like Antonio Rudiger, who left Chelsea in 2022, and David Alaba, who left Bayern Munich on a free transfer the year before, with the latest free transfer being Kylian Mbappe in the summer of 2024. Real Madrid has not signed any right-back since 2019 when they acquired Alvaro Odriozola, leaving Lucas Vazquez and Dani Carvajal as the current right-back options.
