Ankara: Our maneuvers with Egypt and Libya do not target any third party

The Turkish Ministry of Defense confirmed today, Thursday, that the ongoing joint naval exercises with Egypt and Libya in the Mediterranean aim to enhance military cooperation and do not target any other country.
The ministry stated in a statement: "Turkey continues to develop its relations with its regional partners, and we are working to make the Mediterranean a sea of peace and stability."
These exercises are part of the "Friendship Sea 2025" maneuvers, which began in early September and will continue until the 25th of this month. The Turkish and Egyptian armies are participating, along with units from the Libyan navy.
It is worth noting that the "Friendship Sea" maneuvers were launched for the first time in 2009 and continued annually until 2013, before stopping due to political tensions between Cairo and Ankara. Their resumption today is seen as a clear sign of improved bilateral relations and a mutual desire to enhance regional cooperation.
