Saudi Arabia calls for sighting the crescent moon of Ramadan on Friday evening... with great anticipation for the beginning of the blessed month:
In an atmosphere filled with longing and anticipation, the Supreme Court in Saudi Arabia has invited all Muslims across the kingdom to sight the crescent moon of the month of Ramadan on the evening of Friday, 28th of February, in preparation for the arrival of the holy month.
The court explained in its statement that Friday, 1st of Sha'ban 1446 AH, corresponding to 31st of January 2025 AD, marks the first day of the month of Sha'ban according to the Umm al-Qura calendar.
Therefore, it calls on everyone to participate in observing the crescent moon on Friday evening, whether with the naked eye or by using telescopes.
The court also urged anyone who is able to sight the crescent moon to report to the nearest court and record their testimony, or contact the nearest center to assist in this matter.
It emphasized the importance of joining those interested in moon sighting with the specialized committees spread across various regions of the kingdom to contribute to this eagerly awaited annual event by Muslims.
