Algeria secures its place in the 2026 World Cup after a deserved victory over Somalia

The Algerian national team has officially qualified for the finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, following their deserved victory over their Somali counterpart with a clean score of three goals in the match that took place on Thursday evening, as part of the ninth round of the African qualifiers.
Mohamed Amin Amoura scored two goals for the "Desert Warriors" in the minutes (7 and 57), while captain Riyad Mahrez added the second goal in the minute (19), confirming the Algerian team's superiority in the match and securing the qualification ticket early.
The Algerian team raised its score to 22 points at the top of the group, officially ensuring its participation in the World Cup scheduled to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico in 2026.
This qualification is the fifth in the history of Algerian football after its previous participations in the years 1982, 1986, 2010, and 2014.

With this qualification, Algeria became the fourth team from North Africa to secure a place in the World Cup, after Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia, confirming the superiority of Maghreb football on the African stage.
