Al-Sadr Affirms the Unity of Values Between Muslims and Christians and Emphasizes Coexistence in Iraq

Al-Sadr pointed out his firm conviction that Iraq is a homeland for Christians just as it is for all other religions, each according to their rights and duties, noting that Christians have been and continue to be an integral part of the Iraqi social fabric, coexisting peacefully with the rest of the population in accordance with divine values and civil laws.
He stressed the need to treat Christian citizens based on the principle of reciprocity and mutual respect, clarifying that any individual positions issued by some people, such as calls for normalization or promoting ideas that lack societal consensus or support for corruption, do not represent Christians as a community, nor do they reflect his position or that of the movement he leads.
Al-Sadr concluded his message by affirming that Muslims and Christians share a deep belief that divine messages, whether the message of Christ or the Prophet Muhammad, came primarily to achieve reform, establish peace, uphold justice, and protect human dignity.
