The head of the Cooperative Aviation Security Program in the Middle East, Mohammed Saad Al-Fawzan, made an official visit to Damascus International Airport today, Sunday, where he reviewed the applied security procedures and the available capabilities at the training and rehabilitation center affiliated with Syrian Airlines, accompanied by the head of the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, Omar Al-Hosari.
In a statement to the "SANA" agency, Al-Fawzan expressed his admiration for the level of security organization at the airport, praising the efficiency of the staff working in various security departments, and the efforts made at the training center, which he described as a "model to be emulated in developing human capabilities in aviation."
He pointed out that his tour inside the airport and the center revealed a clear commitment from the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority to apply the highest international standards for aviation security and safety, reflecting Syria's keenness to provide safe and reliable air services for travelers.
Al-Fawzan confirmed that Syria's joining of the Cooperative Aviation Security Program in the Middle East, affiliated with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), represents an important step towards enhancing regional cooperation, emphasizing that all capabilities and expertise will be harnessed to support the development of Syrian capacities in this vital field.
The program aims to develop the aviation security system in the region through coordination among member states, exchanging experiences, and applying the best international practices, ensuring the safety of air navigation in the Middle East.
