The Damascus hospital revealed today, Sunday, a suicide attempt by one of the patients after being admitted to the hospital for swallowing a sharp object, only to later discover that the patient is suffering from psychological disorders.

The Damascus hospital also mentioned through its official Facebook page that "after the patient attempted suicide several times since morning, he entered a state of swallowing foreign objects 'razor blades,' then attempted suicide again by jumping from one of the hospital floors and breaking the windows."

According to the patient's family, "the patient is suffering from psychological disorders."
Under the supervision of the hospital director, the situation was handled by the emergency office and the medical staff in the general surgery department, where he was transferred to Al-Mawasat Hospital to receive appropriate treatment as it contains psychiatric medicine and tools for extracting the swallowed object.
