In a new development within the Syrian Artists Syndicate, the artist Mazen al-Natour has been appointed as the head of the artists' union, succeeding the artist Mohsen Ghazi, as part of a new council that includes a selection of artistic figures who will lead the union during the transitional period.

The new council includes:

Nour Mahna - Vice President
Nabil Abu al-Shammat - Treasurer
Salah Ta'ma - Secretary
Mays Abu Harb - Member
Mohammed al-Rashi - Member
Jihad Abdo - Member
Mohammed Hadaki - Member
Amaal Hawijah - Member
Youssef Abdo - Member
Mohammed Zaghlool - Member

The appointment of the new council was issued by the Syndicates Office at the General Secretariat of the Political Administration, to function as an "interim management committee" responsible for the executive office of the union temporarily, until official elections are organized in the near future.

The handover ceremony took place between the previous council led by Mohsen Ghazi and the new council led by Mazen al-Natour, inside the union headquarters in Damascus, amidst an atmosphere characterized by cooperation and respect.
During the meeting, Ghazi confirmed the readiness of the previous council to provide support and advice to the new colleagues, to help them succeed in their tasks during the transitional period.

What changes will the artistic community witness under the new leadership?
