Unexpectedly, Egypt Witnesses Heavy Rainfall Amid Rising Temperatures

Today, the Egyptian capital Cairo and Giza Governorate witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall in several areas, unexpectedly amidst recorded rising temperatures.
Meteorologists from the Meteorological Authority had confirmed that today would see a continued increase in temperatures across most regions, with hot and humid weather prevailing during the day in most areas. Temperatures are expected to be relatively cooler on the northern coasts, and mild at night and early in the morning.
Dr. Mahmoud Shahin, the General Director of the Forecasting and Early Warning Department at the Meteorological Authority, revealed an increase in humidity levels today, raising the perceived temperature by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius above the actual values. He also predicted the formation of fog from 4 to 8 AM in areas from the north of the country to Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, cities along the Suez Canal, and central Sinai.
Shahin pointed out the expected disruption in maritime navigation in some areas along the coasts of Matrouh, Alamein, Alexandria, and the Lake, with wind speeds ranging from 50 to 70 km per hour and wave heights reaching 2-3.5 meters.
It is worth mentioning that this weather phenomenon is part of the climatic fluctuations experienced by the country during this period of the year, where factors of rising temperatures coincide with rainfall, necessitating caution for citizens, especially when driving in the presence of fog.
