70 Martyrs in Gaza During Israeli Airstrikes on Residential Areas and Displaced Persons' Schools

In a new bloody escalation within the operation "Gideon's Chariots 2", Israeli warplanes have launched more than 18 intense airstrikes since dawn on Saturday on densely populated areas in Gaza City, resulting in at least 70 Palestinian martyrs and dozens of injured, in massacres targeting civilian homes, residential towers, schools, and tents of displaced persons.

The Israeli bombardment has particularly focused on the Sheikh Radwan and Jabalia al-Nazla neighborhoods, where 56 Palestinians lost their lives in Gaza City alone, while rescue teams retrieved dozens of bodies from under the rubble amid collapsing humanitarian and health conditions.

Israeli warplanes also bombed the Beach Camp west of Gaza, resulting in the complete destruction of a school that was sheltering displaced persons, and 16 residential buildings since the morning hours.

A Palestinian source confirmed that the Israeli army deliberately targeted schools and shelters housing displaced persons, despite some residents receiving prior evacuation warnings; however, the intensity of the bombardment and the short notice did not allow residents to escape, leading to a mass slaughter among civilians.

As the bombardment escalated, hundreds of Palestinian families were displaced from Gaza City towards the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis in the south of the sector, where the place lacks the most basic necessities for shelter and life.

Local sources reported that several families were forced to return to Gaza after failing to find shelter in the south, while the city is besieged by death and hunger.

In a related context, the Israeli army detonated pre-planted explosives (booby-trapped reports) in areas east of Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, causing the complete destruction of several homes and residential buildings due to the intensity of the explosions, amid a state of panic among civilians.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli army launched its new military operation on September 3 under the name "Gideon's Chariots 2" with the aim of completely occupying Gaza City, which sparked a wave of criticism within Israel, especially from security leaders who warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of the security and military risks of occupying the sector, in a meeting that lasted more than five hours.

UN and international warnings continue regarding the worsening catastrophe in Gaza, where the city suffers from the collapse of infrastructure, food and water shortages, and unprecedented internal displacement waves.

Humanitarian organizations have sounded the alarm about an imminent famine and a devastating health crisis threatening the lives of thousands of civilians trapped under bombardment and siege.
