Washington Commits to Handing Over Camps Administration in Northeast Syria to Syrian Government

The United States has renewed its commitment to hand over the administration of camps in northeast Syria, managed by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), to the new Syrian government.
The US Embassy in Damascus, announced in a post on its Facebook page, that the United States "is committed to a responsible transition process for the administration of camps in northeast Syria to the new Syrian government, and to the voluntary return of Syrians to their homes".
It explained that on June 15, 42 Syrian families, consisting of 178 individuals, left the Al-Hol camp in the countryside of Al-Hasakah, returning to their original communities across Syria.
The embassy clarified that this organized return was supported by the United States, in coordination with camp management, local authorities, and the civil society partner represented by the "Stabilization Support Unit" (S.S.U.).
