Syrian Minister of Agriculture discusses with the Planning Authority ways of cooperation in building a statistical system for the agricultural sector

The Syrian Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Amjad Badr, discussed today, Wednesday, with the President of the Planning and Statistics Authority, Anas Salim, ways of cooperation in building an integrated statistical system based on field reality, as part of the efforts to develop an accurate database for the agricultural sector.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of integrating governmental efforts to build a sound statistical system that contributes to shaping sectoral policies and enhances governmental performance efficiency.

Minister Badr highlighted the importance of establishing modern three-stage databases that keep pace with agricultural development requirements. He pointed out that linking data to the agricultural process is a fundamental pillar for improving performance and enhancing the service provided to farmers.

Salim, in turn, reviewed the structure of the Authority and its areas of work, emphasizing the Authority's readiness to cooperate with all parties to enhance planning capacities by providing the necessary statistical data for drawing developmental policies and forming joint working teams to maximize the utilization of available resources.
