In a tragic scene that affected the Egyptian artistic community, the young artist and cinematographer Timur Timur drowned on Saturday evening, August 16, while trying to save his son from drowning in the Ras Al-Hikma area of the North Coast.

The Actors' Syndicate, headed by Dr. Ashraf Zaki, confirmed the news of his death, expressing in an official statement its deep sorrow for the loss of one of the creative young faces, who "left a distinctive artistic legacy in the field of cinematic and dramatic photography."

It was revealed that the late artist drowned while on a family trip when he noticed his son was drowning and rushed to save him, but fate did not spare him, and he took his last breath while submerged, and his body was transferred to Ras Al-Hikma Hospital to complete the burial permit procedures, in preparation for the funeral in the coming hours.

A large number of artists mourned the deceased, most notably the artist Hossam Dagger, who wrote on his Facebook account:
"A father saves his son and drowns himself... Oh Timur, what a pain... I can't stop crying, you were my friend for years... Oh God, consider him among the martyrs, he died drowning while saving his son."

Producer Ibrahim Hamouda described him as a "martyr of fatherhood," saying:
"A harsh and painful scene... he died trying to save his flesh and blood... a scenario that breaks hearts."

* A promising artistic career abruptly halted
The late Timur Timur was a graduate of the Higher Institute of Cinema - Department of Photography, and he began his artistic journey during his studies, participating in several youth projects and dramatic and cinematic works, including:
_ The film "The Seventh Sense"
_ The youth series "Youth Online"
_ The film "Ibrahim the White"
_ The film "Over My Dead Body"
_ The film "After the Battle," which represented Egypt at the Cannes Film Festival

Timur Timur's departure is a painful loss for Egyptian cinema, as he was one of the ambitious artistic faces that combined creative sensibility and professional artistry, at a time when his career was steadily paving the way for bigger works.

* A sad end to a noble human story
Timur Timur did not die while filming a scene, but he left while playing the true leading role in life: a father trying to save his son at any cost.
He left behind a great sorrow in the hearts of his colleagues, loved ones, and family, but he gained a special place in everyone's hearts, as his name will remain engraved not only as an artist; but as a symbol of paternal sacrifice.
