The World Council for Tolerance and Peace issued a statement welcoming the decision by U.S. President Donald Trump to lift sanctions on Syria, emphasizing that this step comes at an appropriate time to support stability in the country and contribute to building a brighter future.

In a statement quoted by the Emirates News Agency "WAM," the Council's President, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan, stressed that this approach reflects a growing awareness of the importance of supporting the peaceful process in Syria, with its positive implications for the Syrian people and for development and stability at both regional and international levels, pointing out that it "allows Syria to be a platform for dialogue, coexistence, and development."

Al-Jarwan also praised the active role of Arab leaderships in creating an atmosphere conducive to such a decision and contributing to pushing towards political solutions that enhance the region's stability.

He explained that the Council sees in this step a glimmer of hope for Syria to return to its Arab and international surroundings, calling on the international community to continue supporting efforts aimed at achieving just and lasting peace in the region.
