Qatari Prime Minister praises the reconstruction process in Syria and emphasizes the accuracy of the current phase.

Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, praised the ongoing efforts to rebuild Syria after the fall of the Assad regime, emphasizing the need for full awareness of the challenges in this phase.
This came during his speech at the opening of the 7th edition of the World Security Forum 2025, hosted by the Qatari capital Doha under the theme "The Impact of Non-Governmental Actors on Global Security."
The Qatari Prime Minister stated in his speech: "In Syria, we see a country being rebuilt and a people working to paint a new picture of their country," adding: "There is an understanding of the sensitivity of the phase Syria is going through and the need for a unifying national discourse," as reported by Al Jazeera.
He also addressed the challenges facing reconstruction efforts in Syria and Gaza, pointing out that these issues have become "deferred dreams" on the international community's agenda due to multiple global crises and declining funding. He said: "The children of Gaza, Syria, Sudan, and Ukraine are not just numbers, but they are the future of our generations."
Regarding peacebuilding, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani affirmed that Qatar will continue its active role in this field, stating: "Through our experiences, we have realized that building genuine peace requires communication with various parties."
The World Security Forum, which started today and will continue until Wednesday, brings together global leaders, government officials, security experts, academics, and civil society representatives. The program includes panel discussions on reconstruction in Syria and other related international issues.
