Social media users have circulated an intriguing narrative in recent days about the death of whale trainer "Jessica Radcliffe" following an attack by an orca during a live show, accompanied by claims of a video documenting the incident.

However, a report published by the British site Vocal revealed that the story is entirely fabricated, as there is no official or media record of a trainer by that name, and no incident matching the circulated details has been recorded. The report indicated that such misleading news is often created on unreliable sites and supported by old or altered clips to give a false sense of credibility.

The spread of the story is likely due to its reliance on similar events that actually occurred in the past, such as the death of trainer Dawn Brancheau in 2010, the killing of trainer Alexis Martinez in 2009, and trainer Keltie Byrne in 1991, which are real incidents that contributed to making the fabricated narrative believable to many.

Experts have warned that circulating such stories without verification contributes to misleading the public and negatively impacts discussions related to the safety of those working with animals and their rights, in addition to the pain that may be caused by exploiting real incidents for the families of the victims.

It is noted that the orca, or killer whale, belongs to the dolphin family and lives in all the world's oceans, characterized by complex social behaviors and advanced hunting abilities that make it one of the most intelligent and powerful marine creatures.
