The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed its gratitude and appreciation to all sisterly and friendly countries and international organizations that hastened to express their sincere condolences and fraternal sympathy to the Syrian Arab Republic, following the cowardly terrorist attack that targeted the Church of Mar Elias in Douwaila, Damascus.

The Ministry said in a statement published by the official SANA agency: These noble positions expressed by governments and peoples of the world embody the depth of human solidarity and commitment to shared values, and enhance confidence in the principles of solid international cooperation in times of adversity.

It added: The Syrian Arab Republic reaffirms once again that such criminal acts will not deter it from continuing to defend the unity of its territories and the security of its people, and pursuing all those behind these cowardly acts.
