On the Syrian side, the agreement was signed by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry for Internal Trade Affairs, Engineer Maher Khalil Al-Hasan, and on the program's side, by the Qatari Director of the World Food Program in Syria, Marianne Ward. Engineer Al-Hasan explained that in the first phase, the agreement targets the provinces of Daraa, Latakia, Tartous, Aleppo, Hama, and Homs, with plans to expand to the rest of the provinces in the next phase, starting from Daraa on May 29th. Ward expressed the program's desire to enhance cooperation with the Syrian side and provide support to improve the living standards of citizens and facilitate the return of refugees to their homes. Ward clarified that bread support will cover two million citizens with 40,000 tons of flour in successive stages, ending by the end of the year, and renewable based on actual needs in partnership with the Syrian government.
