President Donald Trump escalated his tone towards his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, saying that the latter is "playing with fire". Trump's latest comments came following some of the largest drone and missile attacks on Ukraine since the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine in early 2022. Trump, in a post on the "Truth Social" platform, said, "What Vladimir Putin doesn't realize is that without me, very bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean that completely. He is playing with fire." CNN reported, citing informed sources, that "Trump is considering imposing new sanctions on Russia in the coming days after expressing his frustration with Putin."
