The Syrian Minister of Health, Dr. Musab Al-Ali, today, Wednesday, discussed with a French delegation headed by the Chargé d'Affaires at the French Embassy in Damascus, Jean-Baptiste Faver, mechanisms to enhance cooperation in the health sector between Syria and European countries, during an official meeting held at the ministry building.

The participants reviewed during the meeting the programs and studies related to the establishment of new hospitals, the restoration of those affected, and the identification of medical devices needed by health institutions, in light of the preparations for a visit by a delegation of French companies to Damascus on the first of October.

Minister Al-Ali emphasized the importance of starting practical steps to rebuild and rehabilitate the affected hospitals and to develop the infrastructure of the medical sector, pointing to the role that the French company "Alibis" can play with its advanced expertise in supporting the Syrian health system.

For his part, Olivier Picard, the director of the French company, explained that a specialized delegation will visit Syria next week to study the reality of the hospitals and to develop a plan for their reconstruction according to national priorities, stressing the need to formulate a common vision for implementing health projects.

Faver, for his part, indicated that this meeting comes as a continuation of a series of preparatory meetings aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation, explaining that the Damascus summit scheduled for the first of October will witness the participation of 40 French companies in a one-day exploratory visit to identify the needs of the health sector and the proposed investment projects.

This meeting comes as part of the efforts of the Ministry of Health to attract foreign investments that contribute to the development of the Syrian health sector and to enhance the medical infrastructure to meet current challenges.
