The Kremlin said today, Friday, that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump exchanged congratulations through their aides on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union and its allies over Nazi Germany in World War II. Putin's foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov told state television, "The Russian President and President Trump exchanged congratulations through their aides on our joint celebration." Russia celebrated the anniversary of the victory in the war today, Friday, with a military parade in Red Square in Moscow attended by dozens of world leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping. The official news agency TASS reported that the US Ambassador to Russia, Lynne Tracy, did not attend the parade.
