The Israeli army carries out more than 75 airstrikes on Gaza.. with a rise in the number of Palestinian casualties.

The Israeli army spokesperson, Captain Eila, announced today, Friday, May 23, that the Israeli Air Force carried out more than 75 airstrikes on various areas in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours.
The spokesperson reported on her official "X" platform account that these airstrikes targeted "launching platforms, military buildings, and weapon depots," as described.
On the other hand, Palestinian "Al-Aqsa" radio reported the killing of 28 Palestinians due to the ongoing Israeli shelling since dawn today. The civil defense in Gaza also announced 16 dead and dozens injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting various areas in the Strip.
Mohammed al-Mughayer, the medical supply director in civil defense, stated to Agence France-Presse that the Israeli airstrikes since midnight resulted in "dozens of injuries," in addition to targeting homes in the central and southern parts of the Strip.
This comes as Israel resumes its strikes on Gaza starting from March 18, following the failure of indirect negotiations with Hamas to extend the ceasefire that lasted for two months.
The war erupted after an attack on October 7, 2023, by Hamas on southern Israel, resulting in the deaths of 1,218 people, mostly civilians, according to French agency statistics based on official data. 251 hostages were taken, with 57 still in Gaza, including 34 dead, according to the Israeli army.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health in Gaza, under Hamas control, announced that the death toll since the start of the war has reached 53,762 martyrs as of the latest update.
