First Turkish Textile Exhibition in Damascus Launches New Opportunities for Industrial Cooperation between Syria and Turkey

The first Turkish exhibition for textile machinery and supplies in Damascus International Fairground kicked off yesterday with the participation of 40 Turkish companies specialized in textiles and production supplies. The exhibition offers various options for Syrian industrialists and traders to enhance mutual cooperation.
The exhibition aims to open new horizons for industrial cooperation between the two countries, especially in the textile sector, which is a cornerstone of the Syrian economy. In this regard, Burhan Korkmaz Oğlu, the Acting Ambassador of the Turkish Embassy in Syria, emphasized during the exhibition opening: "These exhibitions provide an opportunity for Syrian and Turkish industrialists to get to know each other, not only for importing goods but also for contributing to joint production and investment, especially considering the skilled and efficient Syrian workforce."
Oğlu added: "The participating companies cannot be considered Turkish only, but also Syrian, due to the active participation of Syrian industrialists in Turkish factories, making them real partners in the development of the Turkish textile industry."
On his part, Mohammad Hamza, the General Manager of the Syrian Establishment for International Exhibitions and Markets, highlighted the importance of the exhibition as an economic and industrial event, saying: "This exhibition is an advanced platform for trade and technical exchange between Syria and Turkey, reflecting the positive spirit of cooperation between the two peoples in the economic field."
Hamza also emphasized the role of the textile sector in rebuilding the Syrian economy, adding: "This sector will regain its position as a key supporter of the Syrian economy, and we will contribute as an organized entity to provide the suitable environment for displaying and promoting products."
Oz Yıltçıhanan, the General Manager of "Meridian" company organizing the exhibition, explained that this event comes after a 14-year hiatus in holding previous editions, expressing his hope to enhance cooperation between the two countries, especially in the textile field, and invited Syrian industrialists to visit the exhibition and learn about the latest developments in this industry.
The exhibition is open to visitors until the 5th of July, daily from 4 pm to 10 pm, with a free shuttle service from under the Freedom Bridge in Damascus to facilitate access.
