Sudanese Sovereignty Council President Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan confirmed on Saturday that the Sudanese armed forces do not target specific tribes or areas, emphasizing that military operations are limited to confronting armed rebellion.
Al-Burhan added in his statements that he is ready to negotiate in a way that reforms Sudan and ends the war in a manner that restores the country's unity and removes the possibility of any rebellion, but at the same time he clarified that he will not negotiate with any party, whether it is the Quartet mechanism or others, in reference to his rejection of international and regional pressures.
These statements come amid ongoing battles between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, amidst regional and international efforts to find a political exit for the crisis that has been plaguing Sudan for more than two years.
