Foreign Minister of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry, discussed with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, in a phone call today, Sunday, the developments in the Middle East and the mutual cooperation, especially in the areas of investment and trade between the two countries. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the ministers discussed "developments in the Middle East, including the latest updates in Gaza... and exchanged views on the developments in Libya in light of the recent events in Tripoli." The statement added that "Shoukry expressed Egypt's position calling for the preservation of the unity and integrity of Libyan territories, and the Libyans' exclusive ownership of the political process, emphasizing the importance of holding presidential and parliamentary elections simultaneously as soon as possible."
