The Israeli army announced today, Sunday, the discovery of the body of Hamas military wing leader Mohammed al-Sinwar. The army spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, stated that Israeli forces carried out a precise operation in cooperation with the Shin Bet, confirming the discovery of Sinwar's body in an underground tunnel beneath the "European Hospital" in Khan Yunis. Sinwar was assassinated alongside Mohammed Shabana, commander of the Rafah Brigade, on May 13th in a joint operation between the army and the Shin Bet while they were inside an underground command and control complex. Avichay mentioned that the Israeli army is currently searching the tunnel in question, where items belonging to Sinwar and Shabana were found, along with other intelligence materials that have been transferred for further investigation. Other bodies were also found, and their identities are being verified, according to the army statement.
