Syrian pilgrims' caravans set off to the holy lands for the Hajj season of 1446 AH.

Today, Sunday, May 18, marked the first flights of Syrian pilgrims from Damascus International Airport heading to King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah, kicking off this year's Hajj season 1446H/2025AD.
The official spokesperson for the Syrian Ministry of Awqaf, Ahmed Al-Halak, explained that the flights will continue daily until the second of June, following a precise schedule to ensure the pilgrims' comfort and safety.
Al-Halak noted that the ministry has completed all administrative, legal, and medical arrangements, as well as prepared teams of supervisors and religious guides to accompany the pilgrims and provide necessary support throughout the journey.
On another note, the supervisor of the Syrian Hajj mission, Hayan Droush, revealed the implementation of a new system for the first time this season, which involves providing each pilgrim with a chest card containing a QR code.
He added: "Scanning the code will display the pilgrim's information, including contact details with their group leader, along with electronic links indicating the locations of Arafat camp, the accommodation hotels in Mecca and Medina, facilitating the pilgrims' movements and easy arrival at their destinations."
According to the Director of the Damascus Office at the Directorate of Hajj in the Ministry of Awqaf, Mr. Imran Sheikh Yousef, the number of Syrian pilgrim flights from Damascus Airport will reach five flights daily, totaling 66 flights during the season.
Damascus Airport also witnessed enhanced security and safety services, with civil defense teams deployed to provide first aid, healthcare, and rapid response to emergencies, in measures aimed at ensuring the smooth flow of flights and efficiency of services provided to the pilgrims.
