In a step reflecting the evolution of bilateral relations and financial coordination between Damascus and Manama, the Syrian Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohammad Yasar Barinia, discussed with the Bahraini Ambassador in Damascus, Waleed Mubarak Sayyar, ways to recover frozen funds belonging to the Syrian Commercial Bank deposited in Bahraini banks, in light of license number 25 issued by the US Treasury Department. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Finance building in Damascus, where both sides discussed the prospects of financial cooperation between the two countries, focusing on exchanging expertise, especially in the fields of digitization, financial sector, health, and education, in the context of following up on the understandings reached during the recent visit of the Syrian President to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Minister Barinia expressed his great appreciation for Bahraini support, praising the Kingdom's efforts in supporting Syria's stability and assisting its recovery and prosperity. This meeting comes as a practical step within Damascus' efforts to recover frozen Syrian assets abroad and revitalize economic relations with sisterly and friendly countries.
