Syrian Media: President Al-Shar'a Heads to the UAE

The Syrian Arab News Agency "SANA" reported that President Ahmed Al-Shar'a headed to the UAE on Monday in an official visit.

The agency did not provide any details about the reasons for the visit or its duration.

This visit is the second for Al-Shar'a since assuming the presidency at the end of January.

Al-Shar'a visited Abu Dhabi on April 13 and met with his Emirati counterpart, Mohammed bin Zayed, for extensive discussions.

It is expected that undisclosed issues will be discussed during the visit, most notably the case of the detention of the leader of "Jaish al-Islam," Issam Buwaydani in Abu Dhabi, where demands have increased for a presidential intervention to resolve his case.
