The Syrian Ministry of Interior has announced a modification in the entry visa fees to the country, categorizing countries into groups based on their nationalities, with varying fees determined according to bilateral relations and diplomatic criteria.

Citizens of the following countries are exempt from visa fees and are allowed to stay in Syria for up to 6 months:

Lebanon - Jordan - Mauritania - Malaysia

Visa fees by nationality:

Arab countries:

Morocco, Algeria, Sudan, Yemen: $40

Libya: $75

Bahrain, Somalia: $125

Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Turkey: $150

Iraq, UAE: $250

Non-Arab countries:

China: $40

Russia: $75

United States: $300

United Kingdom: $250

Canada: $150

Australia, New Zealand: $250

European Union: $125

Unclassified countries: $100 for a 15-day entry visa, or $25 for a 3-day transit visa

Most visas are granted for 3 months with a single entry, except for some countries whose citizens are allowed multiple entries during the same period.

Fees must be paid in cash in US dollars upon arrival at the airport or through the electronic visa system.

The ministry advised travelers to "check the visa requirements specific to their nationality before traveling, as conditions and fees may vary".
