The Syrian Ministry of Transport, in cooperation with the Emirates Driving Company, organized a virtual workshop on Monday focused on ways to develop the market licensing system in Syria, enhance the efficiency of driver qualification system, and strengthen traffic safety standards by leveraging advanced regional experiences and adopting smart digital tools.
The seminar, held via video conference, showcased the Emirates Driving Company's experience in training drivers and managing the stages of licensing, from application submission to passing the practical test. It highlighted its infrastructure, specialized human resources, and role as a leading provider of driving education services in the region.
The proposals presented by the Emirati side included implementing advanced training programs for Syrian driving instructors, establishing a modern exemplary center for driver qualification and evaluation in Damascus or one of the major provinces, producing educational content targeting youth, school students, and people with special needs, as well as transferring the company's electronic testing platform to Syria, including artificial intelligence technologies and digital simulation tests.
Company representatives expressed their desire to build a long-term strategic partnership with the Syrian Ministry of Transport to contribute to the development of the driving education sector and achieve high-quality standards in driver qualification.
In response, Syrian Transport Minister Dr. Yarob Badr praised the presented proposals, emphasizing the importance of benefiting from successful experiences and engaging with regional developmental initiatives. He requested detailed copies of the presentation for review, paving the way for bilateral meetings leading to the signing of a memorandum of understanding.
