Governor of the Central Bank of Syria: Lifting US sanctions enhances economic stability.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Syria, Dr. Abdulkader Husrieh, described the decision by U.S. President Donald Trump to lift sanctions on Syria as a "very important step" paving the way for economic stability and recovery in the country.
This was stated in a post by Dr. Husrieh on his personal Facebook page, where he emphasized that "the Syrian people have long suffered from the effects of these sanctions, which have restricted our access to the global financial system, directly impacted the livelihoods of citizens, and affected the operations of economic and financial institutions."
He also expressed gratitude to the countries and entities that supported Syria in this process, saying: "I thank all those who supported Syria in this process, especially our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the Republic of Turkey, and friends in the United Kingdom and the European Union, for their diplomatic efforts and commitment to supporting stability and development in our country."
He added: "Thanks are also extended to Syrian diplomacy led with skill and competence by His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates."
Husrieh expressed optimism that the lifting of sanctions would be an opportunity to achieve an integrated economic vision, pointing out that this decision would contribute to "planning for the development of monetary tools, enhancing transparency, and financial discipline," considering that it "opens the door to a new phase of openness and integration with the global economy."
