Syrian artist Dana Mardini announced on Sunday, July 20, her retirement from acting in TV productions permanently, through a post on her official Instagram account.

In her message, she stated: "I announce my retirement as an actress in the television field... I will no longer work in this field, regardless of the company or station... I will pursue my career and passion outside this context".

Mardini emphasized that her decision was not influenced by any conflicts or urgent circumstances, but rather was the result of "long thinking and accumulated conviction over the years", explaining: "The decision is not a reaction or a spur of the moment.. for years, I have wanted to retire from television", expressing her pride in what she has accomplished during her career: "Proud of what I have done, and I am content with it so far".

She addressed her audience with a clear request: "Please do not contact my family. I come from a family that respects the decisions of others and does not interfere in their affairs regardless of the circumstances", urging respect for her family's privacy.

Despite retiring from the small screen, Mardini confirmed that she will continue her artistic contributions through cinema and theater, promising her fans to follow her new projects saying: "Dear beloved fans, I will continue in my career and will share updates about everything new starting from my place to my projects in cinema and theater or any new field".
