The Syrian Meteorological Directorate has issued a warning of a moderate heatwave starting on Thursday, the 26th of this month, and lasting until Saturday, the 28th of the same month.

The Directorate explained on its official Facebook page that temperatures will experience a noticeable increase, exceeding normal levels by 6 to 8 degrees Celsius in the eastern, Jazeera, and desert regions, and by about 4 to 7 degrees Celsius in other areas.

It also emphasized the necessity of taking necessary precautions, pointing out the importance of avoiding direct exposure to the sun during the peak hours from 11 AM to 5 PM, to safeguard public health.

The Directorate had previously alerted citizens to follow preventive guidelines to avoid any health complications that may arise from the significant rise in temperatures.
