A delegation from the General Authority of Syrian Land and Sea Ports participated today, Monday, in the extraordinary meeting of customs directors in Arab countries, held to discuss ways to enhance customs cooperation and policy coordination among member states.

The participants discussed the report and recommendations of the meeting of legal officials in customs administrations in Arab countries, which was held from 2 to 4 June 2025, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo.

During the meeting, the final draft of the basic system of the Arab Customs Affairs Council was reached, paving the way for its adoption and launch as an institutional framework to support customs policy coordination and enhance economic integration among member states.

The delegation of the authority emphasized the importance of activating joint Arab work in the customs field, to enhance the smoothness of trade exchange and reduce administrative and procedural obstacles at border crossings. It is worth noting that the delegation participated in the meeting with an official delegation consisting of the Assistant President of the Authority for Customs Affairs, Khalid Al-Barad, and the Director of Local and International Relations, Mazen Aloush.
