A shipment of heavy weapons was seized in Daraa and suspects were arrested while trying to smuggle it to Suwayda.

The Public Security Forces in Daraa province managed to thwart an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of weapons and ammunition during a special security operation carried out on Sunday night, April 20th.
Official sources in the press office of Daraa province reported that the confiscated shipment was hidden inside a vehicle and intercepted in the vicinity of Izraa city in the north of the province, as it was being smuggled to As-Suwayda province.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, the seized items included anti-tank missiles, heavy machine guns, Katyusha rockets, and large quantities of ammunition. The shipment was en route from the capital Damascus to As-Suwayda.
The security forces also arrested the vehicle's driver, and the "Hurran Liberators Gathering" website mentioned that the operation led to the detention of two individuals suspected of involvement in the smuggling attempt.
Sources confirmed that investigations are ongoing to uncover more details about the source of the weapons and the network involved in the smuggling attempt.
