The Saudi Crown Prince, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, departed today, Monday 15 September 2025, from the Qatari capital Doha to head the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation at the extraordinary session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, as well as the emergency Arab Islamic summit being held in Doha based on the directives of the Saudi monarch King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
This summit comes in light of its exceptional nature to discuss the Israeli attack that targeted residential premises in the Qatari capital Doha on 9 September, where among the victims were several members of the political bureau of Hamas.
A number of Arab and Islamic leaders and heads of state are participating in the summit, following a preparatory meeting that included foreign ministers and representatives from 57 Arab and Islamic countries, who discussed a draft statement condemning the recent Israeli attack.
For its part, Qatar expressed its great appreciation for the wide Arab, Islamic, and international solidarity against this Israeli attack, which it described as "barbaric," emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation in facing these aggressions that target the sovereignty and security of nations.
Diplomatic circles expect the summit to result in a strong unified stance condemning the Israeli aggressions and enhancing Arab and Islamic cooperation to achieve security and stability in the region.
