Rafael Lozano, President of the Spanish Football Federation, chaired an important coordination meeting in Madrid, attended by representatives from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Athletic Bilbao, along with senior officials from the federation. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the organizational and logistical preparations for the Spanish Super Cup 2026, and to ensure the readiness of all parties before the tournament starts in due time, to avoid any organizational obstacles.

The 2026 edition confirms the continuation of the partnership between Saudi Arabia and the Spanish Federation, within the agreement signed until 2029, which stipulates the establishment of the tournament in the new four-team format since the 2019-2020 season. The tournament enjoys wide popular appeal and increasing media interest, thanks to the participating clubs and the high level of competitiveness in the matches.

The upcoming edition will see the participation of 4 clubs representing the elite in the Spanish league, which are:

• Barcelona: League and King's Cup champion

• Real Madrid: La Liga runner-up

• Atletico Madrid: Third in the standings

• Athletic Bilbao: Fourth in the league

This lineup reflects a highly competitive season in the Spanish La Liga, setting the stage for decisive matches in the Super Cup.
