Saudi Arabia Confronts Ballistic Missiles at Prince Sultan Air Base

The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday evening, March 7, 2026, that its defense systems successfully intercepted a missile attack targeting the Prince Sultan Air Base in Al Kharj.
Major General Turki Al-Maliki, the official spokesperson for the ministry, explained that a ballistic missile fell in an uninhabited area after being launched towards the base, with no recorded human or material damage.
Additionally, four other ballistic missiles were destroyed in one day, as part of the Saudi air defense efforts to maintain the security and sovereignty of the Kingdom.
Al-Maliki noted that Saudi defenses are professionally handling the increasing threats from Iranian attacks, emphasizing that the goal is always to protect the Kingdom's sanctities and resources and ensure its stability and security.
In a related context, Prince Khalid bin Salman discussed Iranian aggression against Saudi Arabia with the Pakistani army chief, as part of the military and defense coordination between the two countries.
The Ministry of Defense confirmed that any attempts to target military and civilian facilities will be met with firmness, and its forces are prepared to confront any threat to maintain the unity of the Kingdom and the security of its citizens.
