Russia Takes Control of a Village in Eastern Ukraine Near Lithium Site

The village is located in Donetsk, which Moscow has taken control of along with four Ukrainian regions, as well as the Crimean Peninsula. Kyiv and Western powers reject Russian annexations as illegal.
There has been no comment yet from Ukraine. Open-source maps from the Ukrainian military blogging site "Debaltseve" show that Shevchenko is under Russian control.
Russian news agency TASS quoted Ihor Klimakovskiy, a Russian official appointed in Donetsk, as saying on Thursday: "The village of Shevchenko, located on the border with the Dnipropetrovsk region, has a lithium site. This is one of the reasons that prompted the Ukrainian armed forces to send large numbers of their soldiers to take control of it".
