Reuters agency reported today, Monday, citing officials, that estimates in Washington indicate that the Iranian response to the strikes carried out by the United States against Iran will come within two days.

According to the agency, two officials said that US estimates suggest that Iran may carry out retaliatory attacks targeting US forces in the Middle East soon, despite US efforts to seek a diplomatic solution to ensure Tehran refrains from any attack.

One official said that the Iranian retaliatory attack may occur within the next day or two.

Iran threatened to retaliate after the United States bombed its nuclear sites earlier this week.

Ibrahim Dhu al-Faqari, the spokesman for Iran's central military prophet's headquarters, said that the United States should expect dire consequences for its actions.

Dhu al-Faqari added, in English at the end of a recorded statement: "Mr. Trump, the gambler, may start this war, but we will be the ones to end it".
