The "Reuters" agency quoted an official from the Olympic Committee in South Korea as saying today, Friday, that the Asian Olympic Council has communicated with the Ministry of Sports and the local Olympic Committee regarding the possibility of hosting the Winter Games in 2029, which are scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia.

The South Korean official added that senior officials from the Asian Olympic Council met with the president of the South Korean Olympic Committee last month and inquired about the possibility of hosting the games in 2029.

Later, the Asian Olympic Council sent an official letter to the South Korean Olympic Committee, according to the official.

The "Financial Times" and "Bloomberg" reported this week that Saudi Arabia is facing difficulties in completing the facilities on schedule as well as challenges in finishing the planned Trojena mountain resort, which is set to host the games.
