The public prosecutor's office in Nanterre requested today, Friday, the referral of Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi, a player for the French football club Paris Saint-Germain, to a criminal court on charges of raping a young woman in 2023, which the player denies according to what the public prosecutor's office informed the "France Press" agency.
The public prosecutor's office confirmed information published by the newspaper "Le Parisien": The Nanterre prosecutor's office referred the case to the investigating judge on Friday with the aim of bringing the accused on charges of rape to the regional criminal court in Hauts-de-Seine. It is now up to the investigating judge to make a decision within the framework of the judicial referral order.
The events of the case date back to January 2023 when a young woman went to the police station accusing Hakimi of raping her, claiming that he stripped her of her clothes and assaulted her before calling an "Uber" car to take her home.
Hakimi denied the rape allegations, but this has affected his family life after he separated from his wife, Spanish actress Hiba Abouk, the mother of his two children.
