In a new development in the case of Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi, Paris Saint-Germain player, his lawyer Fanny Collin sharply criticized the requests of the French public prosecutor's office, which called for referring her client to the criminal court on charges of raping a girl in early 2023.
Collin stated in remarks to the "France Press" agency: "The prosecutor's requests are incomprehensible and illogical considering the evidence available in the case."
She added: "We, along with Achraf, remain calm as we have been since the beginning of the proceedings, and if this continues in this direction, we will use all legal means to challenge these requests."
The case dates back to January 2023, when a girl accused the Moroccan star of raping her after she met him through the "Instagram" app, before he invited her to his home.
According to her testimony, Hakimi kissed her and touched her body without her consent, before sexually assaulting her, which the player categorically denies.
On the other hand, the girl's lawyer, Rachel Flor Bardo, expressed her client's relief after the prosecutor's decision to refer the case to the judiciary.
It is worth noting that Achraf Hakimi is considered one of the most prominent Arab players after winning the UEFA Champions League last season with Paris Saint-Germain, which has drawn significant media and public attention to the case.
