Real Madrid refuses to participate in the Ballon d'Or ceremony 2025 .. what is the reason?
In a move that has sparked controversy once again, Spanish club Real Madrid intends to continue its boycott of the Ballon d'Or awards ceremony organized annually by "France Football" to honor the best players in the world.
The 2025 edition ceremony is scheduled to take place on September 22 at the "Châtelet" theater in the French capital, Paris.

Spanish newspaper "El Desmarque" confirmed that the relationship between Real Madrid and the award's organizing committee remains tense, especially after the announcement of the shortlist of nominees in various categories of the Ballon d'Or, which saw several Real Madrid players nominated.
Although most clubs with players on the list celebrate the nominations on social media, Real Madrid has remained completely silent on this matter.

It seems that the royal club has not yet moved past last year's incident, when Vinícius Júnior, the team's star, was a strong candidate for the award but did not attend the ceremony, and the award ended up being given to Rodri Hernández of Manchester City, with no representative from Real Madrid present at the event.

Real Madrid had achieved some successes in the 2024 edition, where Italian Carlo Ancelotti, the former coach of the team, won the Best Coach award, but he too did not attend the ceremony or collect the award in person.

This escalation of the boycott this time confirms that Real Madrid still maintains its refusal stance towards the Ballon d'Or ceremony, adding further tension to the relationship between the Spanish club and "France Football" magazine.
