Najat Rushdi appeals to the international community to help Syria confront the wildfires disaster

Najat Rushdi, the Deputy Special Envoy to Syria, called on the international community to assist Syria in facing the wildfires disaster.

Rushdi said in a tweet on the 'X' platform today: 'Syria needs more international support to confront the wildfires raging on the Syrian coast.'

The firefighting operations continue in the mountains of the Syrian coast for several days, with reinforcements being sent to the region to participate in extinguishing the fires and limiting their spread amidst the significant challenges, including harsh weather conditions, strong winds, difficult geographical nature of the region, in addition to the presence of war remnants hindering the work and posing a threat to the lives of the personnel.
