Al-Ahli Jeddah Enters Official Negotiations to Sign Messi

The French newspaper "L'Équipe" revealed that the Saudi club Al-Ahli Jeddah has recently entered into official negotiations with the Argentine star Lionel Messi, a player for Inter Miami in the United States, in order to sign him for the team in the near future.
According to a report by the newspaper, "the negotiations do not aim to transfer the player during the current summer transfer window, but the club plans to finalize the deal in January next year, after Messi's contract with Inter Miami ends in December 2025, paving the way for a free transfer." The report added that "the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is prepared to offer everything necessary to convince the world champion to come to the Saudi Professional League."
The report also indicated that "Al-Ahli Jeddah's attempts to convince Messi have been ongoing in recent weeks, supported by a previous move by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, which tried to sign him last summer before the player chose to move to Inter Miami after his journey with Paris Saint-Germain."
Despite the American club's efforts to renew the contract of the Argentine star, the negotiations have not borne fruit so far, especially given Messi's hesitation about his future before participating in the 2026 World Cup finals.
