Rudi Völler, the manager of the German national football team, announced that Arsenal forward Kai Havertz will miss the upcoming matches of the national team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and Northern Ireland, scheduled for next month, due to a knee injury.
Havertz has been sidelined since he sustained the injury during his team's victory over Manchester United with a score of 1-0 in the Premier League, and he was unable to participate against Leeds United in the last round.
Völler stated in comments to German media: "He definitely will not participate, as he is suffering from a knee injury. We do not yet know if he will undergo surgery or be treated conservatively; the situation is still unclear."
For his part, Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal coach, confirmed that the player's condition requires more time and medical examinations to accurately determine the nature of the injury.
Havertz, who is 26 years old, had been out of action for more than three months earlier this year due to a hamstring injury, complicating his current situation.
In light of the recurring absences, Arsenal recently signed forward Eberechi Eze to strengthen the attack, especially with Gabriel Jesus still out recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
