Barcelona sets 70 million euros for Firmin's departure.. and Chelsea pressures with a 48-hour deadline

Barcelona has decided today, Wednesday (August 27, 2025), on the future of its young star Firmin Lopez (22 years old), amid strong interest from Chelsea to sign him during the summer transfer window.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan club's management will not enter into any negotiations unless the player personally requests to leave, and a substantial financial offer arrives that matches the transfer market prices in the Premier League.
The newspaper added that Barcelona has set an initial price of 70 million euros to part with the player, even though they still consider him an important part of the team's future project, after his significant contribution to winning the La Liga title last season.
On another note, reports revealed that Chelsea has given Firmin a deadline of no more than 48 hours to clarify his position before making an official offer, which could be one of the biggest deals of the transfer window to convince Barcelona to part with their gem.
