Minister of Interior: The Battle Against Drugs Goes Beyond the Security Aspect to Become a Social and National Responsibility

Syrian Minister of Interior, Anas Khattab, emphasizes his ministry's commitment to continue efforts to combat drugs, stressing that the battle against drugs goes beyond the security aspect to become a social and national responsibility.
This came in a tweet on the "X" platform on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse, where Khattab stated that the Ministry of Interior "renews its commitment to confront this scourge that threatens societal security, the safety of our youth, and our country".
He affirmed that Khattab "continues firmly and resolutely to carry out intensive campaigns to control smuggling and trafficking networks, to hit storage dens and trading without mercy, to make Syria free of these poisons".
He pointed out that "combating drugs is part of our battle to protect the present and future of Syria", calling on parents and civil society to stand with the Ministry of Interior and support it in this confrontation.
The Syrian Minister of Interior considered that "the war on drugs is not only a security issue, but it is a moral, social, and national duty that cannot be compromised".
